LNA Show Big Success

The Louisiana Numismatic Association Summer Coin Show is a big success. The coin show was held on July 14th & 15th at the DoubleTree Hotel in Kenner LA. Although sponsored by the LNA, the show is hosted by the Crescent City Coin
Club.

“We didn’t see a record attendance, and we didn’t sell all of the raffle tickets, but every coin dealer I spoke with seemed to be pleased with their sales.”
said Rick Demer, Persident of the LNA. Demer continued to explain that the crowds in the room seemed pretty consistent all day and for both days of the show.

Nick Lagattuta, the club’s VP said, “It was very exciting to see the high level of participation by club members in preparing for this show and manning the show during the weekend. We want to use not only this show but our November show as a sort of dress rehearsal for the ANA show that we will be hosting in 2013. After seeing the enthusiasm the club members demonstrated at the LNA show, I’m confident that the Crescent City Coin Club will meet the challenges that lay ahead in hosting the 2013 ANA show.”

A new component was added to this year’s show. The club manned a “Membership Table” both days of the show. The club’s recent change in bylaws and the addition of the membership table served as a valuable resource in meeting the club’s mission statement of furthering the science of numismatics.

The club’s officers and board of governors would like to thank each and every member who tirelessly sacrificed their valuable time to make this year’s show a big success.
